Summer School Student Code of Conduct
1. I will do the assigned work and come to class prepared each day.
2. I understand that attendance is very important. I will try to attend school every day. Part of my grade will be a participation grade. On days I am not in class I will receive a zero for participation. If I do not earn the prerequisite number of participation points, I will not receive credit for this course.
3. I will be on time for all classes. I understand that tardiness will not be excused. Each instance of tardiness of less than 5 minutes will result in the loss of a participation point. If I am more than 5 minutes late it will result in a loss of 2 participation points.
4. I will be attentive, stay on task, and show respect for staff and fellow students.
5. If I am disruptive or uncooperative I will be sent to the office. Upon being sent to the
office for disciplinary referral I will lose 2 participation points for not being in class.
6. Smoking is not permitted. This applies to the school, the school grounds, the parking
lot, the school buses and the bus loading areas. Smoking violations will result in a
disciplinary referral and a loss of 3 participation points.
7. I will remain in the school building while on breaks or between classes for those enrolled in both sessions. If I leave campus I will not be allowed to return that day resulting in the loss of participation points
8. If I drive to Summer School I will park in the areas designated for students only. I will not park in the spaces reserved for faculty and visitors. There is no parking allowed in the front of the building or in the bus loop. Instances of reckless driving by those attending Summer School will result in the loss of parking privileges as well as administrative referral penalties.
9. If I choose to use bus transportation I will be on my best behavior. Bus transportation is a privilege. If I behave inappropriately I will have the privilege to ride the bus taken away and will be subject to administrative referral penalties.
10. I will be in the building between 7:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. If I am not scheduled for a class I
will not be in the building. There is a “no visitors” policy for the Summer School program.
11. I will not use pagers, cellular phones, Ipod/ MP3 players and/or other electronic devices in class. If I am using any of the above items, I understand they may be confiscated. Failure to surrender any of the above items to a teacher will result in a suspension from Summer School.
12. I will not be involved in fighting, vandalism and/or other episodes of inappropriate behavior.
Violations will result in my suspension from Summer School.
13. I will never be involved with the possession or use of weapons or controlled substances, including alcohol. If I violate this regulation I will be expelled from Summer School and legal actions will be taken.
